                                Dictyophora

 

Bamboo fungus is a kind of hidden flowers fungi which parasitizes on the root of the whithered bamboo. Its shape looks like white meshy dry snakeskin. It has a dark green bacteria cap, a snow-white cylindrical bacteria handle, and a pink egg-shaped volva. On the top of the stipe there is a netty white shirt which spreads down from the pileus. Dictyophora is rich in nutrition, fragrant flavor, delicious taste. It’s one of the ancient “BAZHEN grass”.

Nutritive analysis:

Dictyophora is rare edible fungus. It was listed court tribute in history. It’s rich in nutrition, according to the determination, dry dictyophora including protein 19.4%, fat 2.6%, total carbohydrate 60.4%, bacteria sugar 4.2%, crude fiber 8.4%, ash content 9.3%. It has health care function to hypertension, neurasthenia, intestines and stomach disease. It also has the specific corrosion function. In summer if you add dictyophora into the dishes, the dishes can’t become stale after e few days.

Eating caution:

You should soak dry dictyophora with weak brine ten minutes before cooking. Then, cut bacteria cap (closed end) at same time remove flower part of the dictyophora (netty part which concentrates the fragrant flavor of dictyophora), only keep stem department, or it will send out unpleasant odor. Do not put in the direct sunlight and high-temperature moisture place, please eat as soon as possible when you open it.
